Pharmacist & Co-Founder

Sarah Hannig, PharmD, BCPS

Hello! I am a pharmacist in Omaha, Nebraska. Originally from Sioux Falls, SD, I received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University in 2019, completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy, and went on to complete a PGY2 in Palliative Care & Pain Management at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. For the past few years, I have been building an opioid stewardship program at CHI Health in Omaha, NE. In addition to opioid stewardship tasks, I worked closely with the acute pain service, supported our palliative care team with difficult symptom management cases, and managed both detoxification and initiation of medications for substance use disorders in the hospital. In 2025, I transitioned to a remote position as System Opioid Stewardship Manager for Baptist Health in Kentucky. My passion is addressing stigma and barriers to evidence-based medicine while providing compassionate care for individuals with pain, palliative care, and substance use needs.

Hi! I’m Joni, and I graduated from Drake University with my pharmacy degree many, many moons ago! I’m the Pharmacy Operations Manager at Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy - a Level 1 Trauma Center in Omaha, Nebraska. I am also the facilitator for the Douglas County Overdose Fatality Review Team - a multi-disciplinary team working to identify gaps in care and making recommendations to prevent future overdose deaths. I’m the president for the Nebraska chapter of the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators - a group of law enforcement, regulatory, and healthcare professionals working together to identify and prevent drug diversion.
